Michael Fedor

2010 Pennsylvania Faculty Member

 

Location: Enola, Pennsylvania

 

A native of a once bustling, now bust city in Western Pennsylvania (New Castle), Michael Fedor was a 2007 CPL fellow. Michael served as executive director of the PA League of Conservation Voters from 2005- 2007, gaining experience in fundraising, lobbying, nonprofit operations, and strategic political campaigns.

 

He has sought out a wide-range of leadership experiences, serving on the student senate in college, coaching academic clubs as a teacher, serving on several district task forces and committees, and taking on a leadership role in his local union. Michael currently serves as the Director of Central Pennsylvania Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO.

 

In 2007, Michael was elected to Duncannon Borough Council in Perry County. Today, the only Democrat on the council, he serves as the chairman of Public Works for the borough of just over 1,500 residents. He is the secretary of his county’s Democratic committee


He has been a guest newspaper columnist, a consultant working on energy issues, and a blogger, as well as the president-elect of a newly formed Labor and Employment Relations Association chapter in State College. Michael was a 2007 CPL Political Leaders Fellow and member of the CPL Alumni Board. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a degree in Secondary Education, English & Communications in 2002.

 

After earning tenure as a high school teacher in Lancaster County in 2005, Michael left classroom instruction to work professionally on progressive causes across the Commonwealth.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, Serena, and their son Jackson.
