2010 Ohio Faculty Member

 

Allie Petonic is the Political Director with United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1059 in Columbus. Allie is responsible for the Local Union's voter contact programs, member legislative advocacy, and political activism. She works closely with member activists and Union Representatives to leverage power for workers across the Union's 44-county jurisdiction. 

 

She worked previously in the Ohio Senate for State Senator Jason Wilson and organized with the Americans for Democratic Action in eastern Ohio and SEIU Local 504 in Pittsburgh.  Her campaign experience includes work on federal, state, and local campaigns in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Iowa. 

Allie volunteers with Greater Columbus Jobs with Justice as Labor Co-Chair, Ohio Conference on Fair Trade, Ohio Conference NAACP, A. Philip Randolph Institute Columbus Chapter, and Franklin County Young Democrats.  Allie is a 2005 graduate of Bryn Mawr College with an A.B. in biology.
