Mike Foley

2010 Ohio Faculty Member

Mike was born and raised in Dayton Ohio, and for the last 20plus years has lived in Cleveland.  He is married to his wife Christine and has 4 teenage children, Claire, Tom, Kevin and Matt.

Mike came to Cleveland in 1985 after graduating from the University of Dayton with a bachelors degree in Philosophy.  After college, he worked as a community organizer for the St. Clair Superior Coalition for a number of years and then became Personal Bailiff for Housing Court Judge Bill Corrigan in 1989.  While working days at the Housing Court, Mike got his law degree at Cleveland Marshall College of Law at night.  In 1997 Mike left the court and joined up with the Cleveland Tenants Organization, where he became Executive Director in 2000.

In 2006 Mike ran successfully for State Representative in the 14th Ohio House District, and this past year was elected into leadership as the Assistant Minority Whip for the House Democratic Caucus.

Mike won reelection in November 2008 and will begin his second term in January, 2009.
