Sherryl Weston

2010 Colorado Faculty Member

Sherryl comes to CPL with a background in Special Education and various types of Social Work, including child protection, teen pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, disaster relief and a variety of other efforts which have helped her develop expertise related to the needs of recent immigrants from many countries.

Her interest in social justice and multiculturalism is present through teaching Multiculturalism, Social Work Practice and Women’s Studies at the university level, as well as through her cultural competence consulting practice, Westcloud Arts and Consulting (www.westcloud.org).

Her specialty is biracial/bicultural identity and the developmental process of becoming an ally.  She inaugurated the Diversity Affairs Department of Naropa University in 1999, developing the infrastructure that incorporated personal, political and spiritual growth, plus crisis intervention on behalf of students with institutional entities and faculty development

She feels that coaching at CPL is her opportunity to repay the many mentoring and professional leadership gifts she has received from others.
