Rich Kinnison

2011 Colorado Faculty Member

 

Richard Kinnison has served as faculty since the inaugural session of Colorado's CPL Fellowship Program. He was named Senior Faculty, and has authored the Best Practices Curriculum Guide for Colorado CPL.

 

Rich’s expertise lies in empowering individuals to assume leadership roles in both the private and non-profit sectors.  He was trained in leadership techniques at Brandies and Harvard Universities, Rand & Associates Research Center; and the Center for Dispute Resolution in Washington D.C

 

Rich has provided; leadership training within an” Empowerment Model,” which he has used in designing programs for the Departments of Labor, Department of Education, and the Small Business Administration.   He has provided consulting services to Metropolitan State College, the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University, and Adams State. Rich has had a long association with the University of Colorado Boulder & Denver, and was adjunct faculty at both institutions

 

Rich’s enduring relationship with public education and minority communities can be seen in the positive changes he affected in federal regions VII and VIII school districts. Through his passion in helping low income youth, Rich was contracted by the Department of Labor to improve the quality of leadership and programs offered in federal region VIII Employment and Training Centers. His training and consulting has impacted local, state, and national services.

 

Rich has been recognized for his outstanding Leadership, Quality of Services for Youth in Crisis , Excellence in Intervention Services for Youth at Risk., and Public Services Networking,,  Rich has served on committees dedicated to national legislation development and a proud past member of national health reform.

 

He currently applies his skills to small businesses statewide. Through CPL Rich has a passion for supporting fellows to be the best in their field of interest.

 

 Rich delights in what he considers his greatest accomplishment that of being a single gay parent and creating a close family of six sons.
