Lindsey Hodel

2011 Colorado Faculty Member

 

Lindsey Hodel brings a decade of experience from across the country in community organizing, civic engagement, and advocacy on social and economic justice issues.  She is currently founder of the Colorado Participation Project, an effort to engage direct service providers in civic engagement and advocacy work.  Prior to this, Lindsey worked as Organizing Director with the Colorado Progressive Coalition, a dynamic, multi-issue advocacy group based in Denver.  During her time at CPC, she directed the organization’s electoral and civic engagement programs.  She also helped expand staff and programs in Northern and Southern Colorado, and opened a third state office in Greeley.  Lindsey also helped launch Colorado’s Civic Engagement Roundtable and participates in developing local and state strategies for progressive victories at the ballot box and legislature.  She has a background in environmental justice and toxics, and worked as a community organizer on these issues for three years.  She is a graduate of Green Corps’ School for Environmental Leadership and has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.
