Lindsay Nordstrom

Phoenix

Profession: Arizona Office Coordinator for  ACLU-Arizona

Fellowship Track:  Non-Profit Organization Leadership

Motivation:  I come from a short, but strong line of progressive, democratic liberals.  I listened to stories about President Kennedy and the Peace Corps.  My mother gave me Dr. King’s biography and at eight years old, I would happily recite excerpts from his “I Have A Dream” speech.  In high school I joined the community service club where I was taught how to incorporate public service into my everyday life.  After graduating ASU, I gave the corporate world a chance.  In a few short months, I realized it didn’t seem natural. I came to realize that I needed to turn my commitment to public service into a career.

Volunteer Highlights: Mesa Boys and Girls Club Special Olympics; Thomas J. Pappas Schools; Chandler Kiwanis Club

Leadership Interests: I aspire to hold the position of Program Director for a non-profit which deals with at-risk youth, homelessness or intercultural peace building.

CPL-AZ Mentor:  Allie Bones; EMERGE Board of Directorsand Expert/Activist for the Homeless and Abused
