Claudia Montelongo
Pomona College, Class of 2006
A recent graduate from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, Claudia Montelongo hopes to pursue a career in public policy.
While in undergrad, Claudia was a McNair’s Scholar, worked as part of the Residence Hall Staff as a Residence Hall Programmer, the National Hispanic Institute, and helped to found Empowered Latinos in Action, an accomplishment she is very proud of (her freshman year, there were no Latino organizations until she founded Empowered Latin@s in Action (ELA).).
In 2004, Claudia studied abroad in Azogues, Ecuador and learned from government officials about the Azogues Strategic Development Plan. Because of her Spanish fluency, Claudia was able present an ethnographic study while in Ecuador.
Claudia is very committed to economic advancement and amplification of civic engagement for the Latino community. |
